Jeonbuk State, together with the Jeonbuk State Office of Education and Jeonbuk Sports Middle & High School, will send donated sports equipment from students to youth in three African nations, fostering international exchange and friendship through sports.

 

On the 5th, Jeonbuk State and the Jeonbuk State Office of Education held a send-off ceremony for "Re; Play Together: Jeonbuk Sports Gifts of Friendship" at Jeonbuk Sports Middle and High School, sending sports equipment to Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Namibia.

 

Beyond simple material aid, this initiative is designed to practice cross-border solidarity and friendship through sports, expanding the foundation for exchange among future generations. In particular, by sharing student-used sports equipment with youth abroad, the program spreads the value of sharing while extending Jeonbuk’s international sports diplomacy into local schools and communities.

 

Kim Jong-feel, Head of the Jeonbuk State 2036 Summer Olympics Bid Committee, stated, "I hope the cherished sports equipment that our Jeonbuk students grew up dream over will bring new hope to young people in Africa." He added, "Moving forward, we will continue to promote international exchanges through sports, guided by the core values of inclusion and solidarity championed by the IOC."

 

Starting with this pilot project, "Sports Gifts of Friendship," Jeonbuk State plans to review expanding both target countries and sports disciplines. Furthermore, the state aims to develop Jeonbuk into an international sports hub by hosting international sporting events and promoting youth athlete exchange programs.
