Jeonbuk State announced on the 13th that it will invest a total of 20.7 billion KRW in 2026 to implement customized, life-cycle support policies aimed at ensuring the stable settlement, self-sufficiency, and social integration of multicultural families within the province.

The project is structured to cover the entire process from initial adaptation and building a foundation for self-sufficiency to supporting the growth of children, comprising a total of 13 initiatives. First, 12.7 billion KRW will be invested in supporting the operation of Family Centers, which will serve as hubs across 14 cities and counties in the province to provide integrated services such as Korean language education, counseling, and family support. In addition, services like interpretation and translation (1.2 billion KRW) and visiting education services (1.8 billion KRW) will be provided to assist with initial settlement and daily life adaptation.

Additionally, the province plans to enhance community acceptance through multicultural awareness education and cultural experience programs. In the second half of the year, it will host the "Multicultural Harmony Festival" to provide a space for communication and unity between local residents and multicultural families.

There are approximately 13,000 married immigrants and naturalized citizens, 14,000 children of multicultural families, and a total of 46,000 multicultural household members in the province. Jeonbuk State recognizes them as vital members of the local community and key future human resources, and it intends to continue providing systematic support for them.

Lee Mi-sook, Head of the Women and Family Division of Jeonbuk State, stated, "Multicultural policy is a key initiative that enhances the diversity and resilience of our local community." She added, "We will strengthen our support to ensure that multicultural families can settle down and achieve self-sufficiency stably, and we will actively provide backing so that their children can grow into future local leaders."
