To begin full-scale discussions on introducing a visa-free entry exemption through the revision of the Special Act on Jeonbuk State, Jeonbuk State held the 'Jeonbuk Visa-Free Entry Exemption Introduction Seminar' at Jeonju Grand Hillstone on the 5th.

 

This seminar was promoted to prepare policy alternatives suitable for the conditions in Jeonbuk, in preparation for the era of international passenger service at Saemangeum.

 

The visa-free entry system, which allows foreigners to enter without a visa for a certain purpose and duration, is a restricted entry exemption operated to support participation in international events or to vitalize port and logistics functions.

As the international passenger function of the Saemangeum New Port is expected to expand, the necessity of introducing an effective visa-free system in Jeonbuk is being raised.

 

Presenters discussed and suggested directions for a visa-free entry exemption applicable to Jeonbuk.

Participants evaluated that the visa-free entry exemption would become an important institutional foundation for strengthening Jeonbuk's international competitiveness, including the expansion of Saemangeum New Port's international passenger function, improved accessibility for international events, and enhanced travel convenience for businesspeople.
