Jeollabuk-do Succeeds in Selection of Saemangeum as the Specialized Secondary Cell Complex with Challenging Spirit

Jeonbuk Saemangeum (https://www.msn.com/ko-kr/feed) was selected as a 'Specialized Secondary Cell Complex for National High-Tech Strategic Industry' at last, and attained the wings to take off as a worldly industrial foothold for secondary cell industry.

In December last year, the government appointed semicondoctors, displays, and secondary cells as national high-tech strategic technologies to strengthen national competitiveness of high-tech technology, and announced a plan to appoint specialization complex. In the secondary cell area, five local self-governing bodies such as Pohang, Chungbuk, Ulsan, and Sangju in addition to Jeonbuk competed enthusiastically to win Specialized National High-tech Strategic Industry Complex.

Jeonbuk was recognized as the second mover in the secondary cell industry when it applied for the contest in February last year. But, in March last year, by the flare of joint venture of SK ON, EcoProMaterials, and GEM, Jeonbuk succeeded in attracting large-scale investment of leading businesses in secondary cell such as LG Chemistry, Huayou Cobalt, and Enchem and accomplished a crucial turning point to attract a specialized secondary cell complex.
