Jeonbuk State has outlined its vision to create a region where women and children can live with peace of mind. This year, in the areas of women, children, and families, a comprehensive support system will be launched-ranging from expanded care services and increased allowances to violence prevention.

On the 18th, the province announced polices it is promoting that span the entire life cycle, including the creation of a gender-equal society, strengthening child care expanding family support, and providing customized welfare services. It is a comprehensive support blueprint that carefully looks after every member of the family-from women’s economic participation to children’s healthy growth.

Promoting women’s economic participation and building a safe society

First, it will expand opportunities for women to participate in economic activities.

Increasing child allowances and eliminating gaps in care services.

Both the eligible age and the amount of support for child allowances will be expanded.

Strengthening support for single parent and foster families.

The foster care child-rearing subsidy will be increased on a differentiated basis according to age, ranging from KRW 340,000 to KRW 560,000 per month.

Promoting a work-life balance culture

To promote a work-life balance culture, the number of beneficiaries eligible for incentives supporting men’s parental leave is set to jump from 141 to 300, which is more than a twofold increase.

Expanding children’s experimental spaces to foster creativity

Three new public indoor children’s playgrounds will be established.

Kim Kwan-young, Governor of Jeonbuk State, said, “A region where women are safe and children are happy is truly a good place to live,”adding, “We will continue to close policy gaps to eliminate blind spots in care and ensure that all families receive strong and reliable support.”
