Jeonbuk State visited agricultural sites in Gochang-gun to inspect the heatwave response of seasonal workers and farmers, as well as to listen to their concerns.

 

First, they visited a farm in Mujang-myeon, Gochang-gun to check the working conditions of foreign seasonal workers. They focused on whether the heatwave response measures, such as stopping outdoor work from 2 PM to 5 PM and providing regular breaks, were being properly implemented. Additionally, they inspected cooling facilities, rest areas, and safety signage within the workplace.

 

The heat wave shelter visited next is a space designed for rural seniors and seasonal workers to escape the heat, and there are 6,035 shelters operating in Jeonbuk State. The shelters are installed in village halls, welfare facilities, and public offices and open until September with air conditioning and fans.

 

To prevent damage to crops and livestock, technical support is also being promoted. For heat-sensitive crops such as peppers, ginseng, fruit trees, and greenhouse vegetables, growth monitoring is conducted along with guidance on installing micro-irrigation systems and shading nets. In the livestock sector, cooling systems, ventilation fans, and stress-relief supplements are provided, and an animal medical support team is operated to minimize heatwave-related damage.
