Jeonbuk State put international sports experts’ heads together in order to still further enhance a strategy of attracting the Jeonju Summer Olympics.

 

Jeonbuk State held an international sports expert consultation meeting for the sake of attracting the Jeonju Olympics at Jeonbuk Provincial Government in May 29, discussing attraction strategies with the advisory panel composed of 18 people in total including domestic and international sports faculties, researchers, field experts and others.

This meeting started with an explanation by Jeong, Euncheon, a researcher of the Jeonbuk Institute, on the progress of the Olympic bid and the upcoming schedule and others.

Then, the advisory committee members discussed a bidding strategy based on Jeonju’s cultural and economic competitiveness in depth, sharing a main flow of the world’s sports community and opportunity factors in the bidding process.

 

In particular, participants concentrated on preparing a practical and differentiated plan to attract through utilizing a network with the world’s sports community. Various solutions to promote effectively local assets which Jeonju has to the international community have been presented in various ways.

 

Jeonbuk State plans to increase the completeness of attraction strategies while concurrently providing written advice and having a bimonthly scheduled meeting with the advisory panel, starting with this advisory meeting. Future advisory content is expected to be reflected on the whole in the strategic plan for the international sports forum, trends in competitive cities and a response to them, strategies for bidding for international meetings and events, and others.

 

Head of the Olympic bid, Jo, Yeongsik said, “We will fine-tune Jeonju’s unique competitive bidding strategy in sophisticated way through a systemic consultation with international sports experts.”, and “We will go all out in Jeonju making a leap forward as a new Olympics city on the basis of the world sports community’s faith.
