Jeonbuk State drives a service to respond to the establishment of a basic plan on the Jeonju Summer Olympic Games and IOC’s selection of the hosting city

Jeonbuk State announced on 16th of this month that it will get down to the service to respond to IOC’s selection of the hosting city and the establishment of a basic plan on Jeonju Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games for the purpose of attracting the Summer Olympic Games.

 

 

 

The purpose of this service is that Jeonbuk fulfills legal requirements as the domestic candidate city of hosting the Olympic Games and lays the foundation to respond strategically to standards required in the process for selecting the host city for the Olympic Games, managed by the international Olympic Committee(IOC).

Jeonbuk plans to prove systematically its bidding capacity for the Olympic Games and to realistically gauge the chances of success in winning the bid of the sports event.

 

 

 

The main task of the service is ▲working on the strategy for bidding on the Olympic Games, ▲establishing a basic plan on the Summer Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games, ▲preparing government and IOC review materials, ▲preparing data about competitive or non-competitive facilities and others.

 

 

Jeonbuk plans to establish a hosting strategy where IOC rules and the flow of event bidding are reflected for the purpose of making a comprehensive strategy and a foundation to implement for attracting the Jeonju Summer and Paralympic Olympic Games followed by derive Jeonbuk’s unique and differentiated competitiveness through the comparative analysis of other cities.

 

 

 

The basic plan(master plan), the core of this service includes not only a concept of holding the event, event-specific venue placement, an infrastructure expansion plan but also the operating base such as transportation, lodgement, health, public safety, formation of an organizational committee, financial plans and others comprehensively. A solid blueprint for the event is prepared by including plans on opening/closing ceremonies, cultural events, volunteer program plans, preparing for the Paralympic Games, Post-competition legacy utilization plans and others.

 

 

 

For the purpose of responding to a government review, plan for hosting, policy assessment data and report of the pre-study of feasibility required to the review process of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance will be prepared together. In addition, simultaneously, response materials for the international stage such as bidding document, Question and Answer document, main presentation slides and others to submit to IOC will be also prepared.

 

 

 

Regarding to main facilities, a status survey will be conducted and a utilization plan will be developed, with a focus on core locations such as stadiums, the athletes village, the media village, the broadcasting center and others, and materials including architectural drawings, visual aids, drone video and others will be produced. These will be used for government as well as IOC reviews.

 

 

 

This service will be utilized as supporting data which prove Jeonbuk’s practical attraction capacity in the approval by government and a competition. A bid notice is currently issued. It will get down to business after signing a contract in early May following the proposal assessment as well as technology and pricing negotiations.

 

 

 

Jeonbuk State officials said, “ This service is a starting point in order that Jeonbuk gauges the feasibility of bidding for global sporting events and has a real competitive advantage.”, and “We will be thoroughly prepared for government and IOC assessment stages and present a model of a sustainable Olympic city based on Jeonbuk’s unique urban attractiveness and cultural assets.”
