Jeonbuk proceeds with a feasibility study to attract the 2036 Summer Olympic Games to Jeonju

Jeonbuk announced that it would push forward the feasibility study service for the sake of attracting the 2036 Summer Olympic Games to Jeonju.
This pre-study on feasability is schedule to be implemented after entering into a contract with Korea Sports Science Institute, a professional institution designated by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism according to the International Athletic Games Support Act, Article 6. Korea Sports Science Institute is a top=tier research and analysis institute in Korea and has a systemic research competency and a lot of experience to ensure a successful hosting of an international sports event.
In this implementing, a feasibility for a successful hosting of the 2036 Jeonju Summer Olympic Games will be analyzed in depth including Jeonju’s bidding conditions for hosting it, reviewing the event plan, assessing technical feasibility and economics, or policy evaluation and others.
Jeonbuk has made a policy of developing a plan for how to operate an innovative event in accordance with key principles for selecting a venue by achieving a carbon-neutral Olympics through low-cost, high-efficiency Olympics by making full use of existing temporary facilities, eco-friendly architecture and establishing a pollution-free public transportation system while achieving balanced national development through a local city alliance starategy and revitalizing the Olympic Games by means of the cultural heritage of Jeonbuk, which is a thousand years old.
Jo, Yeongsik, head of Jeonbuk’s 2036 Summer Olympic bid committee said, “As this pre-study on feasability is an important process to achieve sucessfully the bid of the 2036 Summer Olympic Games, I will prepare thoroughly for the sake of maximizing the creation of economic, social, and cultural value.”, at the same time, telling that he asks for interests and supports from residents of Jeonbuk.
Jeonbuk State plans to get approval of attracting international events under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism after going through a Jeonbuk Provincial Council’s resolution.
