Jeollabuk-do Dreams of Standard Approval for Global Sightseeing City

 

Jeollabuk-do attracts public attention because it prepares a foothold to reform as a global tourism city such as inducing international meeting on the target at international standard approval concerning sustainable tourism.

 

On 9th 11:00 AM at Jeollabuk-do office, Jeollabuk-do entered into a business agreement of GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) international event openning together with Kim Kwan-young governor, Yun Sun-hi vice chief of Saemangeum Develpment Agency, Gang im-jun Gunsan Mayor, and 랜드 더반드 representive of GSTC.

 

According to this business agreement, GSTC determined to hold 2022 Asia-Pacific International Conference and 2025 Global International Conference at Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do.

 

An NGO, GSTC, established in 2007 under the support of UNWTO, UNEP, and UN Foundation, secures about 300 UN organizations, governmental organizations, hotels, tourism agencies, and NGOes, presents about 130 global standards concerning sustainability of tourism and sightseeing areas, and appreciates and examines the compliance of national organization, civil groups, hotels, tourism agencies etc. with international standard .

 

Through GSTC advice and joint research, Jeollabuk-do prepares the sustainable standard for beautiful natural circumstances and long historic and cultural heritage. If it should be carried out, the status of Jeollabuk-do will get higher as an international tourism city.
