Jeonbuk State held the 'Jeonbuk Jeonju DREAM KOREA Summer Olympics Bid Strategy Symposium' at the Olympic Parktel in Seoul on the 27th, discussing the implementation strategies for hosting the Jeonju Summer Olympics.

The event was organized to spread national consensus on the necessity of bidding for the Jeonbuk Jeonju Summer Olympics and to explore the necessary policy and strategic directions. Approximately 300 key figures attended the occasion, including Governor Kim Kwan-young, National Assembly member Jeon Hyun-hee, former Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cho Hyun-jae, as well as major leaders from the sports, media, and academic communities.

The keynote presentations were delivered by Professor Kye Eun-young of Hanyang University's Department of Sports Industry and CEO Jeong Kwan-ho of Monoplane Co., Ltd. The two speakers presented the rationale for South Korea to host its third Olympic Games and outlined successful bidding strategies for the Jeonju Summer Olympics. They also proposed policy directions for enhancing global competitiveness by analyzing South Korea's competitive advantages and the structure of international competition.

The ensuing general discussion was chaired by former Vice Minister Cho Hyun-jae. The panel consisted of Kim Se-hoon, Head of the Sports Department at Kyunghyang Shinmun; Kwon Jong-oh, Senior Reporter for the SBS Sports Coverage Department; Kim Kuk-young, Chairman of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee Athletes’ Commission; Yoo Sang-geon, President of the Korean Society for Sport Media; Kwon Soon-yong, Professor in the Department of Physical Education at Seoul National University; and Kim Hyang-ja, Visiting Chair Research Fellow at the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute.

They offered analyses and recommendations from diverse perspectives, including international sports media trends, K-Culture integration strategies, athlete-centric bidding logic, international examples of multi-site Olympic hosting, and measures to cope with an increase in tourists.

The State plans to use this symposium as a springboard to secure national support, create new growth engines for the Republic of Korea through the Olympics, and dedicate all efforts to promoting the appeal of K-Sports and K-Culture to the world.

Governor Kim Kwan-young of Jeonbuk State said, 'Jeonju is a city with infrastructure and potential suitable to be South Korea's third Olympic host city. We will make thorough preparations so that hosting the Olympics can become a turning point that opens the future not only for Jeonbuk but also for the entire Republic of Korea.
