Jeollabuk-do and Korea Digital University planned to conduct an educational program, especially designed for multi-cultural families. The educational contents will be produced on internet in a title of "Multi-cultural family e-learning campaign" which is intended to provide multi-cultural families living in Jeollabuk-do with opportunities to experience Korean culture in a systematic way.
Multicultural families in the province will be provided with on-line education program about Korean language and culture which is developed by Korea Digital University. The program will release contents of Korean language and culture in 7 foreign languages(Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Mongolian, Thai, and English) through internet on-line, free of charge.
If any female immigrant who is poor in speaking Korean clicks on the web site(http://e-campaign.kdu.edu), she could learn the Korean language and culture in any time and any place.
Furthermore Korea Digital University will conduct a traveling education for immigrants who are not familiar with on-line programs, starting from March, and the education will be focused on how to use computers, access to on-line contents, and to obtain on-line informations.
The project produces a basic course of computer and internet using which is keenly required for on-line education and it is aimed to help marriage immigrants easily learn basic computer using skills, internet & e-mail using, and word processing in a learner-friendly way.
In 2009, the province has expanded the establishment of multicultural family supporting center to whole cities and counties in Jeollabuk-do and has conducted center educations and visiting counseling with on-line programs, which will play a key role in helping immigrants easily learn Korean language and culture through a variety of educations and cultural experiences more earlier.
