Free health check for female marriage immigrants

Jeollabuk-do provides female marriage immigrants living in the province who have been suffering from poor medical conditions with free medical check.
The public health authorities planned to provide 3,000 female marriage immigrants with the free medical examination every other year, starting from 2009.
The province has a plan to input provincial and municipal budget of 220 millions Won(\) for the project and the medical checking will be conducted on 25 items, including general health checking and women's rampant diseases such as cervical cancer and thyroid function test.
Furthermore, to help the female immigrants have better communications at the medical checks, other foreign females who are fluent in speaking Korean, living in Korean for more than two years will attend the medical examination.
Most of the female are under 40 and even though they have health insurance card, the insured are allowed to take regular medical checks only when they got older than 40. In line with the fact, the Jeollabuk-do designated them as the medically vulnerable population and came to initiate the free medical examination program.
