The pivotal hero to attract Hyundae Heavy Machinery to Jeollabuk-do, " Governor Kim Wan-Joo"
" I feel I have been a long battle but I have come here so far in the effort to have even one more Jeollabuk-do students get jobs" Governor Kim said.
Gonernor Kim is the pivotal hero to succeed in drawing Hyundae Heavy Machinery Plant to Jeollabuk-do. He has kept in contact with Hyundae officials and persuaded them leading involved government employees since the end of last year when the task started.
"I was informed that Hyundae is taking into consideration of investing in the areas such as Emseong in Chungbuk and Mokpo, Daebul in Jeonnam. It is not exaggeration to say that my whole life has been with Hyundae Heavy Machinery". In fact, the provincial government spared no pain to face difficulties forming Task Force team with the related officials in Gunsan and visiting to Ulsan Plant and inviting Hyundae officials to Gunsan.
Hyundae Heavy Machinery Gunsan Plant makes it possible to kill two birds with one stone. Apart from job creations and local tax increase, we can prevent our shipbuilding technology from leaking to overseas. Recently, world-class ship builders are investing in China in search for cheap labor cost. Accordingly, Hyundae Gunsan Plant is a good decision in terms of national interest amid signs of China's outperforming domestic shipbuilding industry.
"What to do afterward is important issue. We need to manage Gunsan plant throughly to make it to contribute to revitalization of local economy and regional development. In particular, we will help thorougly to attract more investment so Post Hyundae heavy machinery will be in operation immediately.
