『The rediscovery of Jeonbuk- Rice & way』, Jeonbuk's PR magazine
The 2nd edition of 『The rediscovery of Jeonbuk』dealing with historical and cultural assets of Jeonbuk through humanistic views and works has been released. It is an additional edition after『The rediscovery of Jeonbuk- Taste and Sori]. Although it is not so rare thing for local autonomy to publish PR magazines, "The rediscovery of Jeonbuk" is so unique and differentiated as to its plans, contents, and editing design from others that it attract interest and attentions of the public.
Special PR magazine incorporating a deep humanistic thought
First above all, the magazine is characterized in featuring "deep humanistic thoughts and views". "Rice" and "Way" dealt as themes for this new edition are so great in its historical massiveness and in spite of its abstract theme it tangibly described the contents about "Rice" and "Way" which Jeonbuk and Jeolla people has by approaching in humanistic and historical views.
The chapter of "Rice" faithfully reflects the history of Honam plains which fed this nation as a granary of country and the exploited history during the Japanese colonial period and the classical farm culture based on old history and tradition is reborn through writings about actual experiences. Farmers' unsophisticated simple life are vividly depicted just like "theater of human life" at every part of the book. The magazine,『The rediscovery of Jeonbuk - Rice and way』is a book of rare contents helping readers appreciate classical touches of Jeollabukdo's long history and culture and for the book local writers, journalists, essayists, and farmers including a writer Kim Byeong-Yong, playwriter Choi Gee-Woo joined the writing work and further a photographer Jang Geun-Bum and a printmaker Ji Yong-Chool also participated in it. The participants said that for 2010 they will work on rediscovering exciting dialects and Sin-myung(;exhilaration) of Jeonbuk by taking its local "language" and "exhilaration" as themes. Taste and Sori(sound), Rice and way, and Language and exhilaration and so on, the everlasting resources of Jeonbuk's history and culture are reborn through "The rediscovery of Jeonbuk".
