Opening at the former Guyi-myeon office, Wanju-gun
A wine museum was opened in Wanju, Jeollabukdo for the first time in Korea.
The wine museum built on the former Guyi-myeon office site helps visitors take a view of changing history of Korean traditional wines at a glance.
On 20th of the past month, the opening ceremony of "Korean wine museum" was held and 500 people including local residents and the Gayangju wine association concerned attended.
To celebrate the opening ceremony, a variety of events such as wine performances of national eight provinces, traditional wine sample drinking, and traditional wine making show were performed. The opened wine museum is built in two-story building and exhibits wine concerned old articles including Sojugori(distillation apparatus), yeast making container, wine bottles, wine jugs, diverse wine bottles by wine company, and brand marks at its ist floor.
Having a view of changing history of Korean traditional wines at one glance
The 2nd floor exhibits almost 15,000 wine concerned data and materials, including books giving tips about how to make traditional wines, sorts of wines, drinking etiquette, old certificate approving wine-making, and a variety of wine concerned competition awards.
Further, "wine theme park" will be developed in scale of 330,000㎡ around the museum area until 2013.
The theme park will be developed in a variety of facilities including wine history hall, wine data archives, exhibition galleries, seminar hall, outdoor exhibition center, field learning center, and multipurpose plaza and the park will be a living education center offering opportunities to actually look around and experience everything about wine.
