On the 26th, Jeonbuk State Fire and Rescue Headquarters held the ‘119 Interpreter Volunteer Fire Education and Communication Event’ at the Jeonbuk 119 Safety Experience Centre. The event was attended by 119 interpreter volunteers, who received fire safety training and had in-depth discussions to strengthen their disaster response capabilities.

The 119 Interpretation Volunteer Group consists of a total of 93 volunteers and can interpret 15 languages, including Nepali, Mongolian, Burmese, Vietnamese, Sri Lankan, Arabic, Uzbek, Japanese, Chinese, Cambodian, Thai, Filipino, Indian, Laotian, and Russian. As the number of foreign residents in Jeonbuk increases, it is operated to eliminate language barriers in disaster situations and to support prompt rescue and emergency activities.

Participants learned ▲ crisis escape experience ▲ fire and first aid education ▲ 119 call tips and how to respond to each situation. ▲ In addition, through a meeting to strengthen communication, customized response plans for multicultural families and foreign workers were discussed, and interpretation support was prepared to be provided quickly and effectively in the event of an actual disaster.
