Jeonbuk State will hold Tuberculosis Prevention Week from March 18 (Tuesday) to March 29 (Saturday) in observance of Tuberculosis Prevention Day on March 24.
First, Jeonbuk State will push up with the Visiting Tuberculosis Screening Project, which offers free screenings using mobile examination vehicles, to prevent the spread of tuberculosis.
Mobile chest X-rays will be conducted by visiting facilities or homes for senior citizens aged 65 and older in the state. If tuberculosis is suspected based on the results, a confirmation test will be provided free of charge.
In addition, to strengthen TB prevention management for foreigners, the Honam Regional Disease Response Center will provide education and publicity on infectious disease prevention and policies, and the state, municipalities, and the Jeonbuk State Branch of the Korean Tuberculosis Association provide support for tuberculosis screening and treatment. In addition, the Jeonbuk Foreign Workers Support Center will provide simultaneous interpretation services for foreigners so that they can conveniently receive mobile screenings and preventive education.
