Jeonbuk State, Jeonju-si, and Lotte Shopping are transforming the site of the old comprehensive sports complex in the heart of Jeonju into a Jeonbuk-style MICE complex that integrates culture, tourism, exhibitions, and accommodation infrastructure.

 

As its symbolic centerpiece, the Lotte 4-star tourist hotel, boasting the largest and most luxurious facilities in the province, is being pushed forward with a target completion in 2029. The construction of this hotel transcends a simple accommodation facility; it will serve as a pivotal turning point that simultaneously boosts Jeonbuk's tourism competitiveness and its capacity to host international events, marking a decisive watershed for the MICE industry.

 

The new tourist hotel will be built in the Girindae-ro area of Deokjin-gu, Jeonju-si, on the site of the former general stadium, with a total investment of 117 billion KRW. The hotel will have a total floor area of 23,663 square meters, comprising 4 basement levels and 14 above-ground floors, with a total of 201 rooms. It will also feature high-end amenities such as a banquet hall accommodating 250 people, a restaurant, business center, rooftop bar, and swimming pool.

 

Lotte Shopping plans to begin construction of the hotel in 2026 and complete the project in the second half of 2029, and Jeonbuk State and Jeonju-si will cooperate with administrative procedures to support the smooth implementation of the project.
