Jeonbuk State is establishing a pioneering RE100 industrial complex model centred on Saemangeum, presenting a blueprint for the future of South Korea's energy industry.

 

Jeonbuk State announced that it will host the “2025 Saemangeum Renewable Energy Expo” at the Gunsan Saemangeum Convention Centre over two days from the 9th to the 10th.

 

RE100 is an international joint campaign urging companies to transition their electricity usage to 100% renewable energy. Jeonbuk is accelerating efforts to establish an industrial complex in the Saemangeum area to implement RE100, and this expo aims to highlight the region’s renewable energy vision while fostering collaboration between businesses and research institutions.

 

Through this event, the province seeks to expand public consensus on establishing RE100 industrial complexes and lead the creation of a renewable energy industry ecosystem by leveraging collaboration among industry, academia, and government. It aims to position itself as a pioneering region in revitalizing the local economy, addressing the climate crisis, and advancing sustainable industrial transformation.
