Jeonbuk State is accelerating the implementation of the key provisions of the Jeonbuk Special Act, specifically the 'District and Special Zone Provisions,' which are expected to dramatically transform the region's economic and industrial landscape.
The province held a 'Report Meeting on Measures to Revitalize Special Treatment for Districts and Special Zones' on the 31st and discussed the direction of promotion to enhance the effectiveness of district and special zone operations.
The Jeonbuk Special Act contains 75 special project tasks across a total of 131 articles, with 14 of these special provisions related to districts and special zones. Among these, the authority to designate 10 districts and special zones rests with the provincial governor, allowing for the design of customized policies tailored to local characteristics.
The province plans to designate three districts in the latter half of this year such as the Cultural Industry Promotion District, the Eco-friendly Mountain Tourism Promotion District, and the Forest Welfare District.
Each district is currently in the process of implementing special measures, advancing step-by-step tasks such as establishing implementation plans, conducting research services, and holding briefing sessions on private investment. The province is actively pursuing strategies focused on deregulation and attracting businesses to ensure that district designation not only introduces the system but also leads to tangible results that residents can genuinely experience.
