Jeonbuk State has officially begun formulating policies and strategies to attract the Jeonju Summer Olympics.

 

 

The state announced that it held a kickoff meeting of the ‘Jeonju Summer Olympics Policy Council’ at the state government office on the 27th and officially launched a working-level governance for the systematic promotion of the attraction strategy.

 

 

The policy council is not just a simple advisory body, but is focused on establishing a basic plan for attracting the Olympics and establishing a policy foundation to support the IOC review response strategy. It consists of 12 areas including sports facilities, transportation (SOC), and accommodations, and the vice-governor serves as the chairperson, and about 100 people, including officials from Jeonbuk State, Jeonju-si, Jeonbuk Research Institute, and private experts, participate.

 

 

 

The meeting on this day was chaired by Jeonbuk State Deputy Governor Noh Hong-seok, and key figures including the state directors of each division, Jeonju-si policy officials, and Jeonbuk Research Institute researchers attended to discuss future operation plans and ways to establish a cooperative system.

 

 

 

In detail, in-depth discussions were held on △ the composition and operation direction of the policy council, △ the establishment of major roles and tasks for each of the 12 divisions, △ the linkage between the Olympic attraction strategy and regional policies, and the discovery of new policy ideas.

 

 

 

In the future, Jeonbuk State plans to specify the attraction strategy through regular meetings and occasional meetings once a month, check the issues that may occur in the process, and accelerate the establishment of a realized execution plan.

 

 

Jeonbuk State Deputy Governor Noh Hong-seok stated, "This kickoff meeting is the first step in comprehensively reviewing the regional infrastructure and policy capabilities possessed by Jeonbuk State and Jeonju-si, and in preparing practical execution strategies for attracting the Summer Olympics." He added, "We will continue to pursue strategic and systematic responses centered around the policy council.
