support center(☎ 063-237-1366, 1577-1366)", aimed at providing immigrant women with a variety of counseling services, was set up at Jeonbuk provincial office on 21st, July.
The immigrant women emergency support center is established aiming at protecting the women's human rights by providing women who suffering from family violence, sexual assaults, and sex trafficking, with counseling and emergency supports and the center is equipped with a counseling room, emergency shelters, and a meeting room. The service is produced by 7 workers, including a head of the center and 5 counselors. 
The Ministry of Women's Affairs opened its head office in 2006 and has offered a counseling service to the immigrant women suffering from family violence in nine national languages through telephone and internet for 24 hours all the year round.
In the last year, local centers were set up at four areas like Busan, Suwon, Daejeon, and Gwangju. It is the first time to set up the center at a head office of metropolitan governments.
The immigrant women emergency support center is going to provide them with practical helps, including counter actions against physical assaults or abuses from their husbands and medical and legal services in their mother language, through a close cooperations with the concerned organizations.
The number of immigrant women living in Jeonbuk is found to be almost seven thousands and it is likely on the drastic rise.
